UN/Chile Workshop on Space Tech Appl for Socio-Ec Benefits, Santiago, Chile

The United Nations/Chile Workshop on Space Technology Applications for Socio-Economic Benefits will be held November 12-16, 2012 in Santiago, Chile.  The workshop's objective is to increase awareness among policy makers and planners on the socio-economic benefits of utilizing space technology,   The workshop is hosted by the Centro de Informacio de Recursos Naturales (CIREN) of Chile and co-organized by the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) and NASA in partnership with the Secure World Foundation (SWF).  More details are on SWF's website

The U.N. Office of Outer Space Affairs in Vienna, Austria is offering financial support for a limited number of individuals to participate in the workshop.  The deadline for submitting applications has been extended to September 14, 2012.  For details on how to apply, see the workshop announcement.
