Outer Space Treaty 50th Anniv Event, Jan 2017, DC

The American Society of International Law (ASIL) in cooperation with the Secure World Foundation (SWF) and the Georgetown Space Law Society will hold an event on January 27, 2017 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of when the Outer Space Treaty was opened for signature.
The OST was approved by the United Nations General Assembly on December 19, 1966. It was opened for signature in London, Moscow and Washington on January 27, 1967. The U.S. Senate give its consent to ratification on April 25, 1967. A sufficient number of countries signed and ratified the treaty such that it entered into force on October 10, 1967. The Treaty currently has been ratified by 104 countries and an additional 25 have signed it.
The commemorative event will be held at Georgetown Law Gewirz Student Center, 120 F Street, NW, Washington, DC from 12:00 – 2:00 pm ET. Speakers are:
