NAS Space Science Week, Mar 2017, DC

The National Academies Space Studies Board will hold its annual Space Science Week from March 28-30, 2017 at the National Academy of Sciences building, 2101 Constitution Ave., NW, Washington, DC.

A plenary session will be held on March 28 from 1:00-6:00 pm ET.  The Board’s five standing committees will meet individually that morning and on the other days.  The committees are:

  • Committee on Astronomy and Astrophysics (joint with the Board on Physics and Astronomy)

  • Committee on Earth Science and Applications from Space

  • Committee on Astrobiology and Planetary Science

  • Committee on Solar and Space Physics

  • Committee on Biological and Physics Sciences in Space (joint with the Aeronautics and Space Engineering Board)

Links to all the agendas are on the SSB’s website.  Some sessions may be closed.   The committee meetings are available by WebEx/telecon by following the instructions printed at the bottom of each agenda.

A public lecture will be held on March 29 at 7:00 pm ET, also at the National Academy of Sciences building, by Kevin Hand of JPL who will speak on “The Search for Life in Oceans Beyond Earth).
