NASA Open House as Part of 2nd Obama Inauguration, 10:00-3:30 pm ET, NASA HQ, DC18-Jan-2013 through 18-Jan-2013 NASA will hold an open house at its headquarters in Washington, DC on January 18, 2013 as part of the festivities surrounding President Obama's second inauguration. In addition to exhibits in the lobby, sessions will be held in the NASA auditorium, starting with NASA Administrator Charlie Bolden at 10:00 am ET and followed by panels with top NASA officials on Plans for Future Human Spaceflight, the Importance of Technology and Innovation for our Economic Future, NASA Deputy Administrator Lori Garver, a panel on scientific experiments on the International Space Station, and a panel on Curious About Mars: NASA's Ongoing and Future Missions to the Red Planet. NASA will also be represented on the inaugural parade on January 21 by two floats: one with a full size Orion test article and the other with a full size replica of the Curiosity rover that is on Mars. |
