“Footsteps to Mars: Meeting in Space to

Make the Journey Possible”

Thursday, February 2, 3:00 pm ET

Senior NASA leadership has often observed that humans are closer to their first mission to Mars than ever before in history.

In our next Hangout we will discuss how rendezvous, resupply, and refueling in orbit may make possible affordable early human missions to the Red Planet. These assessments are based on studies conducted in support of the recent successful Achieving Mars IV Workshop.

Join Tony Darnell, Harley Thronson and Alberto Conti as they discuss with Tim Cichan (Lockheed Martin) and Richard (Rick) Davis (NASA HQ) the capabilities available today and under development to reduce the risk of those initial voyages.

The best place to watch the hangout will be on YouTube, broadcast on the Deep Astronomy Channel.
